ABSA Group Assessor Professional Indemnity Insurance

Professional indemnity insurance is mandatory for ABSA accreditation. To make it easy for Assessors to secure the right cover at a low price, ABSA has negotiated a very competitive professional indemnity insurance program.

An Assessor survey conducted in June 2005 revealed that the average cost paid for professional indemnity insurance was over a hefty $2,500 per year. However, even the highest fee for ABSA's PI insurance is less than half that amount.

The program ABSA has negotiated offers $10 million worth of cover for ABSA Accredited Assessors.

The cover extends to professional services where ABSA's accredited members are responsible for:

Performing assessments of the thermal performance of buildings.
Providing advice and delivering training regarding assessments, thermal performance and BASIX related work.

Please note that while professional indemnity insurance is mandatory for ABSA accreditation, making use of ABSA's insurance program is optional.
