Checking compliance
ABSA Accreditation is the only nationally recognised standard for Assessor training
and Quality Assurance which meets the Building Code of Australia and BASIX requirements
that a 'suitably qualified person' must carry out Building Thermal Performance Assessments.
ABSA Accreditation is mandatory for Assessors submitting Thermal Performance Assessments
in some states.
Assessments carried out by ABSA Assessors produce both an ABSA Certificate (2 pages)
and a stamped set of plans.
The ABSA Assessor Certificate must:
-
Have been issued by an Accredited Assessor, showing a 5 digit Assessor number, stamped
with the ABSA Assessor stamp. Go to Find an Assessor to
confirm an Assessor's Accreditation status. Only currently Accredited Assessors are
listed on this page.
-
Have an ABSA Assessor Certificate number. Go to Check
an Assessment to confirm the validity of the Assessment.
-
Include a Schedule of Commitments, detailing the specifications upon which the assessment
has been conducted.
The stamped set of plans must:
-
Be the document set referenced on the ABSA Certificate as the set used for rating
purposes.
-
Be stamped on at least one page of the document set.
-
Have a Specification Block attached that lists all elements included in the rating
(optional in WA). This specification block should be over-stamped with the ABSA stamp
to prevent its removal. Information in this Specification Block takes precedence over
all information contained within the drawing set.
ABSA has developed a Guidenote
for ABSA's Quality Assured Certification Standards for Certifiers and Council
staff.
